Sewn by refugee women in our Atlanta community, Artisan Keepers feature unique fabrics and design themes.

The Sonic Series currently features Sonic Fabric. Created by artist Alyce Santoro, Sonic Fabric is woven from recycled previously recorded audio casette tape. The fabric itself is still audible (really! — watch a demo here: build a sonic fabric reader). Granted, it sounds like underwater noise, but how cool is that?  Since I first saw this fabric I have wanted to use it on Keepers (carry your digital music device in a pouch sewn from analog tape? Very hip).  In both Essential Size and Phone & Passport size, paired with rich globally inspired prints.
